Celebrating the Women Who Saved the French Broad

Join us for the inaugural French Broad 10 Mile Relay on Saturday, September 21, 2024!

Each team will consist of five members, each of whom will run a two-mile loop on the RAD Greenway. The course starts and ends at the iconic “wheel” posted along the greenway. The turn around point is just before the Amboy Bridge, providing each runner with smooth downhill as the cruise home to the exchange zone.

This event celebrates the women who helped preserve the French Broad River and proceeds will benefit Riverlink. We would like to thank the families of Karen Cragnolin, Jean Webb, and Wilma Dykeman for their support.

Registration: Registration ends September 14, 2024 at 11:59pm EDT
Race Day Parking: Street parking and public parking lots in the River Arts District. Please carpool if possible!
Day Before Packet Pick-Up: Friday 9/20/24 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM at Jus' Running (523 Merrimon Ave., Asheville, NC 28804).
Race Day Packet Pick-Up: Saturday 9/21/24 8:30 AM -9:45 AM near the yellow gear sign in Jean Webb Park (approx. 15 Riverside Dr., Asheville, NC 28801).
The 2024 French Broad 10 Mile Relay is brought to the community by Jus' Running.
This event is a 10 mile relay race on a two-mile course. Course image is provided further down on the webpage.
Start and Finish (exchange zone) is located at the big yellow gear sign in Jean Webb Park along the French Broad River Greenway.
The turnaround point will be one mile down from the start and marked with an orange cone.
This is not a closed course: other pedestrians will be present on the greenway during the race, please be respectful of other walkers and runners.
Dogs and strollers are prohibited for this race due to safety concerns.
Price: $150.00 Race Fee + $10.00 SignUp Fee
Shirts included in registration.
One free yoga class from Hot Yoga Asheville! QR code will be available Friday 9/20 and Saturday 9/21 at packet pick up.
One free beer from RAD Brewing Company after the race for each participant 21+. Offer only available 9/21/24 at RAD Brewing (13 Mystery St., Asheville, NC 28801). Bib and ID must be present for redemption.

$150 reflects the registration fee for a team of five. No individual registrations allowed.

Beneficiaries

This race commemorates the women who tirelessly worked to preserve the well-being of the French Broad River that runs through Asheville. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to RiverLink Asheville in honor of Jean Webb, Karen Cragnolin, and Wilma Dykeman. Learn more here!
